The Sea of Cortez combines year-round cruising, mild weather, world-class diving, and extraordinary privacy. The wealth of marine wildlife, including sea lions, dolphins and whales, is unmatched in the northern hemisphere.
Pulmo Reef, near Los Frailes, and the islands off Bahia de La Paz offer excellent diving. Coyote Bay in Bahia Concepcion has the best snorkeling and kayaking because of its well-protected ecosystem. A stretch of reef between two tiny islands off the western end of Isla Bargo offers an incredible array of marine life.
La Paz, the city of peace, and Mulege are both great places to go ashore for culture, hiking and wildlife. Due to its unique environment of semi-tropical jungle, warm, friendly atmosphere, and rich culture, many consider Mulege to be a paradise in the Baja desert.
