MAGDALENA BAY
7-10 days recommended
Fishing, whale-watching, land excursions

Magdalena Bay (Point San Carlos) is every angler’s paradise: striped marlin, Wahoo, dorado and yellow fin tuna can be found offshore, while the inshore fishing can be described as “a-fish-a-cast.” There is plenty of incredible light tackle action and fly-fishing possibilities in the mangrove-lined bay for snook, corbina, jacks, halibut, snapper and bay bass.
Due to its location, its narrow channel and its closeness to the bay entrance at Boca de la Soledad, Magdalena Bay is a natural reserve for gray whales during the months of January through March.
The very beautiful coastline offers plenty of beaches, inlets, marshes and mangrove swamps that are the sanctuary of resident and migratory sea birds, and its waters are rich in species for commercial and sport fishing.
